KONE Corporation, press release, March 6, 2012
KONE has been selected to deliver 57 eco-efficient units to the Jinghope Plaza in Suzhou, China. This multi-use complex comprises hotel and office towers as well as a shopping center podium. The 25-story Hyatt Regency hotel features a full-height atrium, and the 30-story office building will be classed as Grade A with state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional accessibility. KONE solutions will ensure the smooth People Flow® of the hotel guests, office workers, visitors and shoppers at the plaza.
The order includes 33 KONE MiniSpace(TM) and 14 KONE SMonoSpace elevators, 10 KONE TravelMaster® escalators, and the KONE E-Link monitoring system. These elevators equipped with the energy-efficient KONE EcoDisc® hoisting machine are 50-70% more efficient than elevators that use conventional traction 2-speed or hydraulic technology. The TravelMaster escalators are designed to meet the needs of demanding commercial environments and will facilitate a seamless shopping experience in the three-story shopping mall.
"We are honored to be selected by Longxin Group Tianjin to provide our eco-efficient People Flow solutions to a prestigious project in Suzhou," says William B. Johnson, Managing Director of KONE China. "We are proud that the high service level of our team has been recognized."
The plaza is being developed by Jinghope Real Estate (Suzhou) Co, and Longxin Group is the general contractor. The complex has been jointly designed by Goettsch Partners, Inc., and ÉCADI, the architectural firm behind other KONE references in Shanghai such as the World Expo Culture Center, the Information and Communication Pavilion, and the Hongqiao Transportation Hub.
The estimated completion date of the project is June 2013. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2011.
